Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, a Canadian-American singer and songwriter. She is the author of more than twenty albums. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk, alternative and rock, but it also has influences from jazz and hip-hop. Ani DiFranco has been widely acknowledged as the feminist's icon and Grammy-winning artist is considered the creator in DIY music. It was one of the first artists to create her own label in 1990. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd, 1970. She was the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco whom she had been in contact while at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is Italian origin, while her mother hails from Montreal. Ani diFranco composed and performed the song 32 Flavors.
