Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American and Canadian music producer and singer. Her albums span over 20 years. The music of DiFranco is classified as alternative, folk rock but also has influences from jazz and hip-hop. Widely considered a feminist icon Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco is considered to be the father of the DIY movement, and was among the first artists to create her own record label in the year 1990. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd 1970. She is the daughter Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco whom she had met while attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is Italian descent and her mother was born in Montreal. Ani DiFranco composed and performed 32 Flavors. It is a track from her 1995 album Not a Pretty Girl, which was DiFranco's 6th studio release. The song can be heard on the soundtrack for 1999's Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologized to the organizers of a workshop held in Louisiana at an old plantation for slaves. Though she was able to pull the workshop out the majority of attendees (including the authors of our article) were not able to feel remorse. DiFranco apologized again a few days later. While she has been known for her role as the Little Folksinger her music spans many styles and collaborations that range from Pete Seeger to Chuck D to Prince. She is a resident of New Orleans. Ani diFranco as well as Kristen Ford are together. The first song she wrote was at the age of 14 years old. They were performed in bars and coffee shops throughout her teens. DiFranco, who graduated aged sixteen at the age of 16, from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts High School, was the first taking classes in Buffalo State College.
